Honey melon buns
Buns are very popular in Norway. This is a version with some more fibre and fruit than the usual ones. It has proven very popular on several occasions.
- 1/2 kg plain white flour
- 1/4 kg wholemeal flour
- 1/4 kg spelt (dinkel) flour
- 2 ts cardamom
- 1/2 ts salt
- 2-3 spoons of sugar
- 1-2 dl muesli or porrige oats
- 200g butter
- pieces of dried honey melons (if you wish add raisins too)
Mix all of the above
- 5-6 dl lukewarm milk
- yeast
Mix yeast and milk, mix with flour, leave for an hour or so, make the buns, leave for a while longer and bake at 200 centigrade for 10-15 minutes.
