Open Dance - Tricolore

According to the programme notes, Tricolore by Open Dance is about freedom, in particular freedom of expression. The movement material is structured improvisation.

This is a contradiction, a theoretical paradox: structure and freedom are nearly opposite. The question is whether a choreographer by dictating what 12 others must do can express anything about freedom? For me, this inherent contradiction was never touched upon or resolved by the piece and therefore it did not convince me as an expression of "freedom of expression"..
